On Monday, the Federal Small Business Administration released details of how it is sending money to thousands of companies through the Paycheck Protection Program to help businesses weather the pandemic.
The plan, approved by Congress in March, provides grant loans to companies with up to 500 employees to help them retain employees who have been forced to lay off workers due to the coronavirus pandemic-related business downturn.
Nearly 70 Springfield companies received at least $1 million, including famous people you know and some you may not.
More than 650 companies in Springfield received awards worth more than $150,000, including companies familiar with local billboards and others operating primarily as holding companies.
