Asahi Intecc is a manufacturer and supplier of stainless steel wire, rope and tubing assemblies for medical device applications.
Asahi Intecc is a manufacturer and supplier of stainless steel wire, rope and tubing assemblies for medical device applications.
We focus on addressing the mechanical trade-offs between flexural flexibility, tensile strength, torque transfer, and other properties for slender, minimally invasive medical devices.
All components are custom made with the addition of different polymer inner and outer coatings and tubing, solder and laser welding, and terminal and part assembly.
Our cable conduits are custom stainless steel or nitinol shafts, or conduit constructions consisting of individual helically stranded wires.
By adjusting the twist angle, we can customize the wire thickness and structure, torque, bending flexibility and extension resistance for the desired application.
The inner tube is a custom two-layer extruded tube designed to be used as the inner lining of the Asahi Intecc cable tube.
Its lower layer is a fluoropolymer to reduce friction, sealing or chemical isolation in the lumen, while the upper layer is from PEBAX to promote proper adhesion to the assembled stainless steel cable conduit.
Asahi Intecc offers customers a variety of additional coatings to complement our cables, conduits and coils.
This includes internal spray (PTFE), dipping (PTFE), extrusion (PE, PA, PEBAX, TPU, different fluoropolymers other than PTFE) or heat shrink (PTFE and other fluoropolymers, PEBAX) technologies .
Coating materials are defined according to lubricity, sealing, electrical insulation and other requirements.
When it is necessary to combine different mechanical properties (eg different bending flexibility) into a single shaft, the suitable solution is to laser or weld the discrete components of our cables, coils and rigid tube/hypotube based assemblies welded together.
As an additional service, we provide in-house laser welded assembly of threads, drivers and other custom components for our cable and coil products.
Torque hypotubes incorporate two of Asahi Intecc’s core technologies, wire drawing and enhanced torque transfer.Ideal for minimally invasive medical devices requiring high tensile and compression resistance, kink resistance, shape recovery and 1:1 torque characteristics.
Typical applications include endoscopic fine-needle aspiration (FNA) and other minimally invasive devices for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. It is also often combined with our other more flexible cable and tube assemblies for enhanced proximal pushability and maximum torque.
Asahi Intecc is an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485 and ISO 9001 certified Japanese medical device manufacturer.Specializing in customizing flexible ultra-fine steel wire ropes and pipes with high torsional stiffness, such as single-layer ACT-ONE cable tubes and multi-layer torque coils.
We also provide internal coatings and parts laser welding or crimp assembly for our micro rope and tube assemblies.
With our extensive experience in medical devices such as vascular, cardiac structures, endoscopy, minimally invasive and other devices, our in-house wire drawing, wire forming, coating, torque and assembly technologies provide a wide range of options for your equipment.
Torque coils are highly flexible coils consisting of multiple layers and very thin wires, which make the coils ideal for high-speed rotation in very tortuous paths or anatomical structures.
Our PTFE liners feature ultra-thin walls (0.0003″) and tight tolerances to maximize your ID or minimize your OD with our qualified conduit liners.
