The fourth-generation 2022 Lexus LX debuted in October with a new but familiar design.Lexus has made many changes under the sheet metal, but it does represent a new era for the luxbobarge.Toyota’s in-house tuner, Modellista, didn’t hesitate to create a visual upgrade kit for the new SUV, and while these parts don’t constitute substantial improvements, they do give the luxury SUV a more powerful look.
The kit includes sportier front and rear lower valances. At the front, a new spoiler adds some dimension to the SUV’s otherwise tall, flat face, and the lower valance juts out ahead of the vehicle. The rear apron features a wing-shaped design that looks slimmer and more aggressive than the original it replaces.
Modellista also offers full-length stainless steel pedal boards for the LX with smooth black lines for style and grip. The tuner’s final kit is the wheels, which are 22-inch forged aluminum units that customers can get with or without tires, but locknuts are standard on both.Modellista doesn’t list any interior goodies, and there are no performance upgrades for this model, but you’ll probably find more charm elsewhere.
In the U.S., the Lexus LX comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission that produces 409 horsepower (304 kilowatts) and 479 pound-feet (650 Newton-meters) of torque. The new SUV has a new platform and new technology, and it somehow lost 441 pounds (200 kilograms). It maintains the approach and departure angles of the previous generation and is equipped with useful off-road features.
The 2022 Lexus LX will arrive in U.S. dealerships in the first quarter of this year, and those looking to upgrade it beyond the stock look can already consider some of the parts Modellista has to offer. That’s not a lot, but it’s a start, and we’re expecting more upgrades, including under the hood, from tuners and aftermarket companies.
